USWNT Secures Victory Against Italy in International Friendly at Chase Stadium

This past Monday, Dec. 1, Chase Stadium hosted another thrilling international friendly as the U.S. Women’s National Team closed out the year securing a 2-0 victory over UEFA Women’s Euro semifinalist Italy.

Catarina Macario scored the go-ahead goal for the USWNT in the 20th minute, chipping the keeper from the right end of the box. The goal extended Macario’s total to eight on the year, which was tops on the team, and 16 in her 29 caps.

The USWNT then doubled their lead in the 41st minute, with Jaedyn Shaw burying the ball in the top-right corner with a hit from the left end of the box for the final 2-0 scoreline.

The result extends the positive record for the USWNT at Chase Stadium as they close out the year with a 12W-0D-3L record, a 41-8 goal differential and a remarkable 43 players earning their first caps, the most in a calendar year since 2001.

Italy, meanwhile, closed out a successful 2025, which saw the team reach the semifinals of the 2025 UEFA Women’s Euros, with its first-ever visit to Chase Stadium.

Chase Stadium’s electric atmosphere proved once again that the Inter Miami CF facilities are a top spot for international fútbol after hosting numerous international matchups in 2025. The year kicked off with a clash between the USMNT and Venezuela and the FC Series match between Brazilian Série A giants Sao Paulo and CR Flamengo in January, followed by Guatemala taking on Honduras in a Central American battle in March, and The Beautiful Game celebrity match returning to South Florida for a second occasion in June. The second half of the year then presented a host of international friendlies: Argentina topped out Puerto Rico in October, followed by a 2-1 for Colombia over New Zealand in a thriller in front of a sold out crowd and a 2-0 win for Canada against Venezuela in November.
